The Bridge Inn, less than 100yds away, is a traditional and friendly village pub with an open fire and a range of good ales.

Rowing boats can be hired on the river and fishing permits can be obtained for the River Esk. Opposite the boats there is a café with play area, crazy golf and a 9 hole golf course. For serious golfers, Whitby Golf Club is just 5 minutes drive away and offers stunning views of the coastline, Whitby and the Abbey.
